The effectiveness of a nutritional education program on nutritional behaviors to improve nutritional trends of mothers of autistic children in Minya Governorate

Abstract

The current research aims to develop food culture among mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder in Minya Governorate, and to achieve this goal, the researcher prepared a food education program for mothers by preparing research tools (general data scale, food and health education scale, food attitudes scale, and food practices scale), and the researcher followed two approaches, namely the descriptive-analytical approach and the experimental approach of quasi-experimental design:



​Descriptive-analytical approach and experimental approach quasi-experimental design, and the sample size was (12) mothers of (12) children with autism spectrum disorder whose ages ranged from 6-11 years, and the research results showed: There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder in the study group in the food culture scale (cognitive achievement), food practices scale and food attitudes scale before exposure to the program and after in favor of the post-application.
