The Effectiveness of A counselling Program to Develop awareness of girls about to marry about the environmental footprint of home appliances in light of the requirements of sustainable development

Abstract

The current research aimed to study the effectiveness of the counseling program designed to develop awareness of the environmental footprint of home appliances in its areas (the environmental footprint of cooling devices, the environmental footprint of heating devices, the environmental footprint of clothing care devices, the environmental footprint of cooking devices, the environmental footprint of lighting devices) among girls about to get married in light of the requirements Sustainable development with its axes (economic requirements, social requirements, environmental requirements). The study followed the descriptive analytical approach and the experimental approach. The exploratory research sample consisted of (30) girls about to get married from the city of Assiut and from different social and economic levels. They were chosen in a deliberate, purposeful way in order to codify tools. The study consisted of (a general data form, a data form on the environmental footprint of home appliances in light of the requirements of sustainable development, a questionnaire on awareness of the environmental footprint of household appliances, and a questionnaire on sustainable development requirements). The tools were pre-applied to the basic sample consisting of (200) girls about to get married. The prepared program was applied to the experimental sample, which consisted of (40) girls about to marry who had a low level of awareness (part of the lower quartile) as a result of their response to the study tools, and this was demonstrated by the results of the basic research sample.
