The effect of using the educational platform "padlet" on developing the knowledge and skills of the students of the second year of the "Machines" Course

Abstract

This current study aimed to create the “Padlet” educational platform as a modern method for teaching the“Machines course” for students of the second year at the Department of Educational Home Economics and to measure the effectiveness of the “Padlet” educational platform regarding students’ achievement of the knowledge and skills included in the “Machines Course” with the aim to encourage students of self-learning .

The sample of the research included a group of students of the second year, Department of Educational Home Economics - Faculty of Home Economics - Helwan University. The sample comprised (35) male and female students.

The sample of the research consisted of only one experimental group to teach them the course through the educational platform “Padlet” as a novice method for teaching the course, after excluding the failing students who are supposed to repeat the same course due to their different previous experiences from the students of the sample of the research.An exploratory sample of (7) students were selected as well as a group of faculty members, (10) members, specialistsin, to arbitrate the educational platform “Padlet” and its tools, The research used the analytical descriptive methodology and used the semi-experimental methodologydue.

The effectiveness of the educational platform “Padlet” in the knowledge and skill achievement of students in the “Machines Course”, and the benefiting from the educational platform “Padlet” in the students’ self-learning process and taking into account the individual differences among them.
