The effect of learning using the Camtasia Studio program on improving students' performance in musical improvisation

Abstract

Musical improvisation is one of the applied study subjects that requires continuous training from students and the teacher’s follow-up of students’ performance and adherence to the instructions and method of performance for each lesson. Therefore, it needs teaching methods that help the student and the teacher together in follow-up, because the time specified for the lesson is insufficient to follow up on all students at their different levels and individual differences between them ,

Hence the idea of researching the use of Camtasia Studio techniques in recording and preparing videos explaining some improvisation lessons to improve students’ performance in musical improvisation

Research aims :

1- Preparing educational videos for the lessons of musical improvisation for the fourth year, using the Camtasia Studio program (prepared by the researcher).

2- Improving the level of students' performance in musical improvisation using the Camtasia Studio program.

Research Methodology :

One-group experimental method.

The research sample :

15 male and female students of the fourth year in the Department of Music Education, Faculty of Specific Education in Qena

The training program :

The training program relies on preparing educational videos for some lessons of musical improvisation for the fourth year at the Faculty of Specific Education in Qena, using the techniques of the Camtasia Studio program

Research Results :

The results showed the effectiveness of using the Camtasia Studio program in improving the level of students' performance of some musical improvisation lessons
