The effectiveness of a counseling program to develop mothers' ‎awareness of effective motherhood skills in dealing with ‎children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

Abstract

The current research aimed to study the effectiveness of a counseling program to ‎develop mothers' awareness of active motherhood skills in dealing with children with ‎ADHD. On a purposeful, intentional sample of (‎‏178‏‎) mothers of a child with ADHD. ‎This research followed the descriptive, analytical and empirical approaches.‎The results showed the following‏:‏
‏- ‏There is a statistically significant correlation between each of the demographic ‎variables of the study (family size - mother's educational level - family monthly ‎income - housing area) and awareness of the skills of active motherhood in its axes‏.‏
‏- ‏There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of mothers in ‎the level of awareness of the skills of active motherhood and its axes depending on ‎the place of residence of the family in favor of urban mothers, and according to the ‎work of the mother in favor of working mothers, and according to the sex of the ‎child in favor of mothers of male children‏.‏
‏- ‏There is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of mothers in ‎the level of awareness of the skills of active motherhood and its axes according to the ‎level of education in favor of mothers with a high level of education, and according ‎to the size of families in favor of small families, and according to the monthly income ‎of the family in favor of families with high incomes, and according to the child’s ‎arrangement among his brothers in favor of The first child‏.‏
