Abstract

The current research aimed to study a trend towards fast food and its relationship to the pattern of consumer behavior among adolescents, and the study followed the descriptive analytical approach, and the basic sample consisted of (300) male and female students from the secondary stage who attended the city of Assiut, and the exploratory sample of (50) male and female students from the secondary stage, The tools included a general data form, a fast food questionnaire, and a scale of consumer behavior patterns.The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the 0.01 significance level in the fast food questionnaire according to the difference in school type in favor of language schools, according to the educational level of the parents in favor of the high educational level of the mother, according to the father’s occupation in favor of workers in the free sector, and according to the monthly income in favor of the high income and working mothers, and also showed that the most variables affecting consumption behavior patterns were (the educational level of the mother, the monthly income, the average monthly expenditure, the educational level of the father), respectively, where the value of the participation rate was R2 (0.810, 0.680, 0.623, 0.576).The study recommended the need to spread awareness of healthy eating habits and the harmful effects of fast food on health, and to get rid of destructive consumer habits and patterns because of their damage to the family economy and society as a whole.
