Negotiation strategies for managing marital disputes for a sample of wives and their reflection on the psychological security of children

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the wife's negotiation strategies to manage the conflict with the husband and its reflection on the psychological security of the children. To achieve the aim of the study, the study tools were prepared, represented in the general family data form, the wife negotiation strategies questionnaire, which was divided into two axes, positive strategies (deliberate in taking Decision, joint cooperation) and negative strategies (The reality, Tight control, withdrawal and surrender) in addition to a questionnaire of psychological security of children, and these tools were applied to (236) working and non-working wives of different social and economic levels and they have children, and they were chosen in a purposeful manner in The scope of the Dakahlia Governorate, and the research followed the descriptive and analytical method, and the results of the research found that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (01,0) between wives, the basic research sample in the responses to the questionnaire of the wife's negotiation strategies to manage the dispute with the husband in her axes according to the different variables of the study (the wife's work, The educational level of the wife, the length of marriage, the number of family members, the monthly income of the family), as it was found that there are statistically significant differences at the level of (01,0) between wives, the basic research sample in responses to the children's psychological security questionnaire (a feeling of belonging to the group, a feeling of psychological stability.
