University youth exposure to linguistic hybridization through social media sites and its relationship to cultural alienation

Abstract

This research aimed to identify young people's use of linguistic hybridization on social media and its relationship to their cultural creativity. This descriptive research, employing a survey design (as described above), utilized a quantitative approach (450) participants) and was applied practically to assess creative reconstruction. The main participants were students from Minya University, Al-Azhar University in Cairo, and other universities in Minya. The study's findings revealed the following:

- There is a statistically significant correlation between university students' use of social media and their level of exposure to linguistic hybridization through these platforms (at a significance level of (0.01).

-There are statistically significant differences in the rate of exposure to linguistic hybridization via social media based on gender (males and females) and the student's urban or rural background (at a significance level of (0.05).

-There are statistically significant differences in creative expression based on the level of cultural alienation (at a significance level of ( 0.05) and the university attended.
