An AI based learning environment and its effect on developing some musical improvisation skills and academic passion among music education students at the faculty of Specific Education

Abstract

The current research aims to develop some musical improvisation skills and academic passion among third-year students in the Department of Music Education at the Faculty of Specific Education by developing a learning environment based on artificial intelligence tools. It was developed through the Share Point platform. The research followed the descriptive and experimental approaches, and the quasi-experimental design with two groups for a sample of (60) third-year students in the Department of Music Education at the Faculty of Education, Minia University, in the academic year 2023/2024 AD. They were divided into two groups: the experimental group, which includes (30) students, who studied through an environment based on artificial intelligence tools, and the control group, which studied through an electronic learning environment and included (30) students. The research tools were: a musical improvisation skills test, and an academic passion scale. The results showed that the experimental group outperformed the post-application of the skill test for some musical improvisation skills, and the academic passion scale, which means an improvement in their level in some musical improvisation skills, and an increase in their academic passion.
