Abstract

The current research aimed to study the impact of nutritional awareness of kindergarten mothers and teachers in Minya Governorate on children's nutritional behavior and health status. The research was implemented in kindergartens (public and private), where the sample included 80 mothers and 20 teachers for each class from pre-kindergarten to second kindergarten. This research followed the descriptive analytical approach. The researcher prepared a 24-hour recall form, a questionnaire to measure (nutritional awareness and behavior) for mothers and teachers, and an observation card for 80 children regarding their nutritional behavior in kindergarten and at home. The weight, height, and some body circumferences (chest, head, mid-upper arm, wrist) were taken from the research sample. The research results showed a statistically significant relationship between the nutritional awareness of kindergarten mothers and teachers and children's nutritional behavior. There is also a statistically significant relationship between the nutritional awareness of kindergarten mothers and teachers and children's health status, and that the statistical differences between the scores of the cognitive nutritional awareness scale for kindergarten mothers are attributed to the mothers' level of education. The statistical differences between the scores of the cognitive nutritional awareness scale for kindergarten teachers are attributed to the teacher's level of education, and there is a statistically significant relationship between the prevalence of some different diseases among the children in the study sample and their nutritional behavior.
