Using the smokin' technique to address the problems of the thin figure in occasion wear for girls aged (18-21) years

Abstract

Fashion design is considered one of the most important fields that has preoccupied designers throughout the ages. Numerous researches have focused on decorating and embellishing fashion to meet individuals’needs. Designers constantly strive to elevate their designs to attract consumers, especiall when it comes to occasion wear, which is among the most significant types of clothing for female consumers- partic ulary girls ages 18 to 21 years. These girls seek to satisfy various desires such as adorning themselves and concealing. Body flaws or areas of weaknes. The aim of the current research was to employ the smocking technique to address the challenges of a slim body structure in occasion wear forgirls aged 18 to 21 years. The research sample consisted of 80 girls from the faculty of specific education at minia university within the age range of 18 to 21 years. The research adopted both descriptive analytical and experimental methodologies.

The research tools included: an evaluation questinnaire for smocking stitch samples (13 stitches) assessed by faculty esperts in clothing and textiles, a questionnaire for judging 15 proposed designs by the same group of experts, a questionnaire for evaluating 9 exected designs also assessed by clothing and textile experts, a consumer acceptance questionnaire aimed at measuring university
