This research deals with the linear connotations of some fossils and how they can be used in design. Nature is the first source of inspiration for the artist, from which the artist derives his art. The starting point is the human contemplation of nature and the beauty of God’s creation - the Almighty - and his creativity in this creation. Then the artist conducts an analytical study of some elements through the external form, passing through spaces, lines, divisions, and colors, and reaching the finest details and small and complex textures, whether they can be seen with the naked eye or through a microscope. The current research is interested in studying lines, their types, and the role of the line in design. The line is considered one of the most important elements of design. It is an essential element, as any artwork is based on design and the line is the basis of design. The artist cannot take a single step in his work without using the line. The design stage of any artwork is one of the most important stages and the basic factor that leads to a clear vision to develop the intellectual production of innovative processes. It is the language that enables the designer to anticipate the features of the general form. It is an innovative activity whose goal is to determine the general form of things, and is not limited to the external form only, but also to structural relationships.
