Interest in ancient Egyptian heritage is one of the most prominent cultural manifestations in our contemporary world. Numerous festivals have been held, many books written, and museums established with the aim of showcasing this heritage. Researching and exploring its roots through study and inspiration is, in fact, an essential condition for revitalizing the Egyptian identity. Among the various forms of heritage, footwear in particular—especially in ancient Egyptian civilization—hold symbolic meaning beyond their function of protecting the feet.
Over time, the culture of footwearevolved to reflect individual characteristics and social status, to the extent that they became expressive of personal traits and indispensable cultural elements.he importance of studying footwear lies not only in their symbolic significance, economic implications, and cultural concepts within Egyptian heritage, but also in the variety of techniques and materials used in their creation.
This research aims to introduce the concept of footwearin ancient Egyptian civilizations, explore the traditions associated with them, and uncover their aesthetic elements in order to identify the most important artistic and formal values. It seeks to draw artistic foundations rooted in heritage to enrich the field of artistic crafts. Through a descriptive study, the researcher analyzed and described various forms of footwearfrom ancient Egyptian civilizations, identifying the materials and techniques used in their manufacture and the decorations they featured.
The study concluded with several findings, such as the existence of certain types of footwear with distinctive styles, specific ways of wearing them, and associations with particular occasions.
