Abstract

The focus on graduate skills development programs is a top priority in quality assurance programs, as educational institutions strive for excellence and a distinguished reputation by providing a conducive learning environment and specialized teaching programs. This is achieved through offering professional and technical services to various sectors of the regional and national community. Linking higher education with its different domains—such as scientific research, community service, and environmental development—is essential in ensuring that graduates are equipped with the skills needed to compete in the job market. This research aims to introduce an additional career path for graduates by enhancing their practical and technical abilities through a specialized unit program. This unit will provide fundamental knowledge and skills to bridge the gap between graduates' capabilities and the surrounding community, fostering technical and practical development. The program will also prepare graduates for employment in the local market and create new job opportunities outside the field of education, enabling them to improve their economic status through innovative artistic and functional crochet products. Additionally, the research highlights the importance of achieving financial sustainability for the university and enhancing its resources through improved community engagement while fulfilling the university’s mission and objectives.
