Abstract

An analytical instrumental study of some children's pieces for piano, Op. 6, by Konstantin Iges

Until the middle of the 19th century, Russian music remained merely an extension of European music, but at the beginning of the twentieth century, the Russian Revolution affected the development of music and art in general, Among the Russian composers who left huge musical works and left a strong mark on the history of Russian music in the first half of the twentieth century is Konstantin Iges (1875-1950), who wrote many compositions for the piano.

This research aims to:

1. Identify the features and characteristics of musical elements by composer Constantin Iges.

2. Determining the educational level for pieces for the children’s album, op. 6, Constantin Iges, which is appropriate for the musical abilities of bachelor’s degree students at the Faculty of Specific Education.

3. Identifying playing techniques and difficulties and working to overcome them through suggested playing exercises and instructions.

The research is divided into two parts:

o First: The theoretical framework, which includes:

Constantine Ages (his life - his style - his most important works).

o Second: The applied framework: It includes the theoretical and musical analysis of the selected sample and the various musical techniques it contains, along with providing musical instructions to overcome its difficulties and reach the best performance

The research concluded with results and recommendations
