Abstract

The current research aims to develop nutritional awareness among university students by designing a nutritional education program to prevent chronic diseases and the extent of the impact of this program on their nutritional behaviors. To achieve this aim, the researcher prepared the program by reviewing the scientific literature and references. Also, research tools (nutritional awareness and nutritional behavior scale) were prepared for students. The researcher followed two approaches: the descriptive analytical approach and the quasi-experimental approach. The sample number was (120) university students, 30 students were selected from each of the different departments of the college (music education, home economics, educational media and educational technology). The research result showed statistically significant difference between the average scores of the study group students in the cognitive nutritional awareness scale, the nutritional habits and behaviors scale and the nutritional behavior scale before and after their exposure to the program in favor of the post-application.
