Abstract

The Performing Style of first violin in the second movement in the string quartet, Op. 45, by Edouard Lalo



Research introduction:



The Romantic era included many musical compositions and works of artistic value, including chamber music. Among the works written in this type of music is the string quartet, which is characterized by each instrument having a different melodic line that is performed in harmonious harmony between the instruments, as the violin performs the main melody and plays the role of the leader in the string quartet. There were many schools of playing the violin, and the French school was one of the oldest, most famous and pioneering schools in Europe. The French composer Edouard Lalo wrote many musical works, including the String Quartet,Op. 45, which he wrote in 1855, which contains many advanced traditional skills. Therefore, the current research aims to identify the characteristics of musical elements and playing skills, identify traditional difficulties, and provide appropriate and suggested guidelines by the researcher by studying and analyzing this composition.

Structural and instrumental analysis, knowledge of customary skills, and clarification of customary guidelines to overcome some customary difficulties on the violin, Then the research was concluded with the results that answered on the questions,then the recommendations, references and the research summary.
