The effectiveness of a training program to develop theatrical acting skills among adolescents with social anxiety disorder

Abstract

The current research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a training program forthe development of acting skills in adolescents with social anxiety disorder. The researcher relied on the semi-experimental approach by designing one group, and the research tools of the theatrical acting skills scale (prepared by the researcher) and the social anxiety scale for adolescents (prepared by the researcher) were applied to a sample of 20 adolescents from The first level, Department of Educational Media, Tanta University. After the implementation of the program, the differences between the pre- and post-measurements, as well as between the post-measurements and the traceability, were calculated. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the average ranks of the adolescent scores on the adolescent social anxiety scale in the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement, as well as statistically significant differences between the average ranks of adolescents' scores on the acting skills scale.
