Abstract

The nineteenth century, in which Poland lost its independence, was a difficult period for the growth and development of civilization and culture in Poland. As a result of these difficult circumstances, the activity of many musical groups stopped, which consequently affected concerts and musical performances and artistic life in general, which led to the migration of many Polish composers to countries that contained Polish culture and arts without hindrance.

Because Poland lost its independence during this period, we find that the national heritage was of great importance and appeared clearly in musical works.

Short piano compositions that resemble songs in their structure are among the works that spread during this period. They are easy-to-perform works that can be performed well by a novice player. This trend characterizes the compositions of the nineteenth century as a whole.

The Polish school was rich in composers who sought out everything new to serve their artistic purposes. Therefore, the researcher found it important to shed light on Joseph Wieniawski as one of the most important composers of this school. He has many compositions, including the Mazurka, the subject of the current research.
