Prelude piano, class 8, by Nikolai Amani, an instrumental analytical study

Abstract

The style of composing preludes has evolved over different eras, as composers have exploited them to express their ideas and musical doctrines. Among these is Nikolai Amani (1872 - 1903), the romantic Russian composer who wrote piano preludes, classified as 8, each of which has a specific technical educational character that helps in developing performing skills on the piano keyboard. Which made the researcher think about dealing with the compositions of the prelude, classified 8 for the piano instrument of Nikolai Amani, by studying and analyzing them with theoretical and instrumental analysis in order to reach the musical techniques on which each prelude was built and to develop the necessary instructions to overcome its difficulties in order to reach the best performance for it.

The theoretical framework of the research dealt with previous studies related to the subject of the research, then the life of the author, his style, his most important works, and an overview of the prelude template. The research followed the descriptive and analytical method for three preludes classified 8 for the piano instrument (the research sample). The applied framework also came and dealt with the analytical study (theoretical and instrumental) of the piano prelude and presented it. Suggestions and necessary instructions to overcome some of the performance difficulties that these preludes included, and the research concluded with the research results, their interpretation, and recommendations.
