Abstract

Woven jewelry is one of the types of jewelry used at the present time because of its simplicity in execution and light weight, which does not cause burden on the wearer at all times and occasions. Various fabrics are used in its implementation, and the Arabic shemagh is one of the design elements that can be used in the implementation of jewelry because of its distinctive features, It has elegance in appearance and diversity in patterns and colors, confirming the Arab identity among consumers.

A group of 14 jewelry designs were executed using the Arabic shemagh in different colors, with the use of some auxiliary materials such as beads, leather, and fringes. The executed jewelry was presented to a group of professors and a group of consumers,

The results found that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the professor’s evaluation of the designs to achieve the evaluation aspects (the foundations and elements of the design, the aesthetic aspect, the functional aspect, and the innovative aspect). There were also statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the consumer’s evaluation of the designs to fulfill the evaluation items, with a correlation between the opinions of professors and the opinions of the consumers of the designs, The value of (R = 0.506), which is statistically significant at the level of significance (0.01), is a direct relationship, meaning that there is agreement between the evaluation from a scientific and practical perspective.
