Abstract

Abstract:

The aim of the research is to study the physical changes that occur in women after breast surgery, and to identify the functional requirements of fabrics and outerwear for women who have undergone breast surgery. The goal is also to provide design solutions that meet the clothing needs and achieve the functional aspect that helps women who have undergone breast surgery to wear and undress their clothes independently. Additionally, it aims to achieve the aesthetic aspect that is suitable for the age group of 35-55 in terms of colors and materials. To achieve the research objectives, a descriptive-analytical method was used, and the research sample consisted of 15 specialists in the field of clothing and textiles, and 7 consumers, referring to women who have undergone breast surgery, to measure their acceptance level of the proposed designs, which included 10 designs. The tools included two questionnaires to measure the acceptance level of the research sample for the proposed designs of clothing for women who have undergone breast surgery. The results revealed the problems faced by women after breast surgery during the treatment period, necessary examinations, wound changes, and sterilization. The specifications that should be available in clothing for women who have undergone breast surgery were identified, and design solutions were developed to meet their functional and aesthetic needs, which were clarified during the implementation of the proposed designs.
