The Effectiveness of a Mentoring Program to Develop Awareness of the Functional and Aesthetic Role of Housing and its Relationship to the Ideology of Hoarding Among Married Women

Abstract

The current research aims mainly to reveal the effectiveness of the guidance program to raise awareness of the functional and aesthetic role of housing and its relationship to the ideology of hoarding among married women. The basic research sample consisted of (220) married heads of families who were selected in a purposive manner from female and non-workers working in some government agencies, and from acquaintances and friends. And from rural and urban women, and with different social and economic levels from the governorates of Cairo and Qalyubia. The experimental research sample also consisted of (55) family heads from the lower quartile From the same basic research sample and with the same conditions of those with low awareness of the functional and aesthetic role of the dwelling, the research tools included a general data form for heads of household, a measure of the awareness of heads of household about the functional and aesthetic role of the dwelling, a hoarding ideology questionnaire, an advisory program for developing married women’s awareness of the functional and aesthetic role of the dwelling, and it was followed The research uses descriptive analytical method and experimental method

The results showed that: Sample members residing in urban areas were more aware of the functional and aesthetic role of the dwelling than sample members residing in the countryside at a significance level of (0.01).

There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the pre- and post-measurements for applying the counseling program to the experimental research
