Contemporary ceramic formulations of Qena pottery and the impact of combined clay techniques on them as an input to enrich the field of ceramics

Abstract

The research seeks to create ceramic formulations for the shapes of Qena pottery by reformulating them plastically and enriching their surfaces with combined clay techniques, which enrich the field of ceramics, by presenting the research problem, hypothesis, and goal. The limits of the research are related to the use of local clays in Qena Governorate in shaping the work of the research experiment, and dealing with some forms of products. Folk pottery in Qena Governorate and the use of combined clay techniques with some surface treatment techniques. The research also follows the descriptive analytical approach in the theoretical framework, and the experimental approach to try to prove the research hypothesis, and it reached many results, the most important of which is that it was possible to create contemporary ceramic formulations for Qena pottery forms by recreating Forming it plastically and enriching its surface with combined clay techniques by carrying out (14) works; It was possible to create contemporary ceramic formulations of Qena pottery forms by reworking them plastically. Based on its results, the research recommended finding a mechanism to document the visual identity of Qena Governorate and all Egyptian governorates so that it is not exposed to distortion and distortion due to cultural invasion, so that it becomes documented and easy to repurpose, and paying attention to popular crafts and working to revive them.
