Man has known since his early inception the art of sculpture in general, and he also knew the art of wood carving in particular, as its purposes diversified and its sizes varied. Then the methods and ways of treating it increased, moving from the initial simple lines to other, more restricted or organized lines, and then it developed until it began to carry... It has artistic values and standards no less than any other art, because it was treated purely plastically. The value of a wooden piece is no longer determined by its function or the provisions of its manufacture. It has come to be viewed from an artistic perspective on the basis that it is a reflection of the artist’s feeling.

And also because it carries tremendous energy in art, creativity and expression, and we can say that the new and contemporary vision in the art of Arab wood carving is linked to the expertise and experiences of a number of artists whose experiences vary between drawing inspiration from Arab heritage or benefiting from the experiences of the countries in which they studied.

For this purpose, the research will examine the methods, trends and techniques of wood carving in some Arab countries (Egypt - Kuwait) whose style is contemporary, with a presentation and analysis of some of the works of artists whose works are characterized by diversity in the way they treat shapes and surfaces...etc
