Abstract

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine how an interactive e-learning environment, grounded in communication theory principles, influences the advancement of information technology and communication skills, as well as the improvement of psychological well-being in a group of 450 male and female students enrolled in various specializations at the Faculty of Specific Education at Minia University. The participants include 150 students from each of the three departments within the faculty (Educational Technology, Educational Media, and Music Education) during the first term of the academic year 2023/2024. Educational content and learning tasks were digitally delivered through three virtual classrooms on the Google Classroom platform. To attain the research goals, the researcher adopted an experimental approach, utilizing measurement tools such as a knowledge achievement test linked to information technology and communication skills, an evaluation card for assessing the research sample's outputs, and a psychological well-being scale. The achievement test, evaluation card, and psychological well-being scale were administered both before and after the learning period. The findings revealed that the interactive e-learning environment, based on communication theory principles, played a role in the cognitive and performance-oriented development of information technology and communication skills. Additionally, it positively impacted the psychological well-being of the research sample (comprising the three distinct groups). The results further suggested that the students' specialization had an insignificant effect on the development of an interactive e-learning environment, rooted in communication theory, for information technology and communication skills. Nevertheless, the specialization did exert a significant influence on the development
