Experts’ attitudes towards applying media literacy standards in children’s satellite channels

Abstract

The research aimed to identify experts’ attitudes towards applying media education standards in the content presented on children’s satellite channels. To achieve the objectives of the study, a media survey approach was used, using a questionnaire on a sample of (200) individuals. The study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which are: There is a direct, statistically significant correlation between the experts’ attitudes toward applying media education standards and the content of children’s satellite channels. There are also statistically significant differences among the members of the study sample in their attitudes toward applying media education standards in the content presented on children’s satellite channels according to the gender variable, in favor of males. Likewise There are no statistically significant differences among the expert members of the study sample in their view of the degree of influence of children’s satellite channels on children due to the variable of gender and specialization. The results of the study also revealed that there are no statistically significant differences among the study sample members in their view of the extent to which children’s channels achieve media education standards. The various contents provided to children are attributed to the variables of type and specialization.
