Abstract

This study aimed to identify the best of the three methods (Turkish - Russian - English) for making the basic pattern of the jacket for obese women in terms of the fitting and conformity, the proportion of comfort and the general shape. Each of the three methods was implemented with 8 sizes (different masses of the body).Damour cloth was used for the samples, and it was fittedon the selected sample, photographed, and presented to a jury of specialized professors atthe Department of Clothing and Textiles to express their opinion on the implemented jackets by the three chosen methods in terms of the control degree, comfortfactory, drape, balance, and the general shape of the jacket (frontside, backside, collar, two sides, and sleeve) for each method separately, usingan estimated scale designed. The most important results of the research is the presence of statistically significant differences between the three methods used in preparing the pattern of the jacket for obese bodies in favor of the first method (The Turkish method) as it is the most accurate and best method in terms of control degree, comfort factory, drape, balance, and the general shape of obese bodies.
