Designing and Implementing Sportswear for Girls with Motor Disability

Abstract

The aim of this research was to design and implement sportswear for girls with motor disability (Paraplegia and Hemiplegia) in the age group (21- 40) years. The research sample consisted of (11) girls. Both the descriptive-analytical method as well as the quasi-experimental method were adopted in the current research. Research instruments consisted of a questionnaire to survey the opinions of consumers on their clothing requirements, a questionnaire for the specialists in the field of clothing and textiles to evaluate the proposed designs, a questionnaire to survey the opinions of consumers on the proposed designs, a questionnaire for the specialists in the field of clothing and textiles to evaluate the implemented designs, and a questionnaire to survey the opinions of consumers on the implemented designs.
Results of this research revealed the following:
1- there are statistically significant differences between the proposed designs in achieving (the elements and basics of design, the aesthetic aspect, the innovative aspect, the functional aspect) in accordance with the opinions of the specialists in the field of clothing and textiles.
2- there are statistically significant differences between the proposed designs in accordance with the opinions of consumers.
3- there are statistically significant differences between the implemented designs in achieving (the functional aspect, the aesthetic aspect, the innovative aspect, the technical aspect) in accordance with the opinions of the specialists in the field of clothing and textiles.
4- there are statistically significant differences between the implemented designs in accordance with the opinions of consumers.
