The use of educational media students for video journalism and its relationship to the development of their journalistic editing skills

Abstract

• Objective of the study: The study aimed to achieve building a form that is semantically compatible with the intellectual contents directed to newspapers and the extent of the impact of video journalism in developing journalistic editing skills for students of educational media.
• Method, sample and tool: The current study relied on the quasi-experimental approach using the experimental treatment tool represented in video journalism and the achievement test, and it was applied to a random sample of (60) individuals from the third year students, Department of Educational Media - Faculty of Specific Education - Minya University, in the period from October 2021 until the end of December 2021.
• Results of the study: The study reached several results, most notably: the existence of an effective and remarkable and significant impact of the training program based on video journalism in developing journalistic editing skills among the students of the third year, educational media, the experimental research sample. It was also proven that there were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the post application. For press editing skills in favor of the experimental group, there were also no statistically significant differences between males and females in the dimensional application of press editing skills.
