UTILIZING AESTHETICS OF MANDALA ART TO ENHANCE THE ABAYA

Abstract

- The women’s abaya is considered one of the most important pieces of clothing for women, expressing the customs and traditions of societies. The abaya has become another facet to keep pace with the times, in all its manifestations, after it became in line with the latest innovations and new trends. Therefore, the research experiment was based on providing innovative decorative designs inspired by the art of mandala to enrich the aesthetic and functional aspects of the abaya and implement them using hand embroidery method. Decorative designs, then the proposed designs were judged by specialized professors through the evaluation form of the proposed designs. The designs that received the highest scores were implemented (5) designs and were implemented in the style of hand embroidery. The results of the research experiment indicated that there is a difference between the quality coefficients in the arrangement of the proposed designs (the ten) according to the opinions of specialists, and these differences are statistically significant between the proposed designs in terms of (aesthetic - functional - quality of implementation) according to the opinions of the arbitrators. (the five) according to the opinions of specialists, and these differences are statistically significant between the pieces executed in (design - quality of design - method of implementation (mandala)) according to the opinions of the arbitrators, and there are also statistically significant differences between the pieces executed according to the opinions of consumers, where the best executed pieces got the highest Ratings are based on consumer reviews.
