Abstract

This study aims to recognize and uncover the correlation between the role of family in enhancing the culture of use of coins and improvement of saving awareness. To this aim, the researcher has employed the descriptive analytical methodology. Data and information of the study were extracted by the use of some tools specifically designed by the researchers (i.e., a questionnaire, a scale for enhancement of the use of coins, and a scale for improvement of saving awareness). The standard sample group of the study was composed of an intentional sample of 750 students – of both genders – enrolled in Middle and Secondary Stages of Education, affiliated to various social and economic levels in Jeddah. Statistical analyses were conducted to infer the findings and verify reliability of assumptions. Findings revealed statistically indicated differences between average marks obtained by members of the sample group on the scale of enhancement of the culture of coin use and the scale of improvement of saving awareness in accordance with the variable of sex/gender in favor of female members. Findings also pointed out to differences between the marks obtained by members of the sample group on the scale of enhancement of the culture of coin use in accordance to the variable of parents’ job in favor of unemployed parents. Furthermore, findings revealed differences between marks obtained by members of the sample group on the scale of improvement of saving awareness in accordance to the variable of parents’ job in favor of employed parents.
