Engineering a Future Curriculum in Home Economics in Light of the Requirements of the Green School to Inculcate the Concepts of Sustainability and Skills of Green Product Innovation and Support the Academic Buoyancy for Students of Preparatory Vocational Schools

Abstract

The aim of the research is to engineer a future curriculum in home economics in light of the requirements of the green school to Inculcate the concepts of sustainability and green product innovation skills and support the academic buoyancy for students of vocational preparatory schools, To this end, a list of requirements for achieving a green school was derived through the elements of the curriculum and a list of sustainability concepts that can be included in the home economics curriculum for students of Vocational preparatory schools and a set of applied projects related to the field of home economics through which green product innovation skills can be practiced, and In light of the two lists, a document of the proposed curriculum in home economics was planned, and to identify the efficiency of the curriculum in achieving its objectives, an experimental unit was chosen to be taught, and the educational materials for the experimental unit were prepared ,The research tools included a cognitive test of sustainability concepts, a test of green product innovation skills, and an academic buoyancy scale, In its applied aspect, the research followed the quasi-experimental approach through the experimental design with one experimental group (before/post measurement), The basic research sample consisted of (56) female students of the first year of preparatory vocational school,The results indicated the effectiveness of the experimental unit in instilling the concepts of sustainability, green product innovation skills and academic buoyancy support for the basic research sample
