Secondary school student's use of educational films and their gratifications

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the rate of using educational films by secondary school students and the gratifications achieved by them by identifying the most educational activities that students like to participate in, and to identify the role that students participate in the production of educational films, and the extent to which students are willing to participate in making educational films. Determining the most important values in educational films for the participating students. The study belongs to the field of descriptive studies, and the study relied on the media survey method, and the questionnaire was applied to a deliberate sample of secondary school students from Mina Governorate schools participating in the production of educational films, consisting of (103) individuals. The results indicated that the importance of educational activities from the point of view of the study sample was (learning and developing new skills). The results also indicated that the students participating in the educational film industry had an increase in the average level of their acquired educational values, as the hypothesis was fulfilled, and it was proved that there is a direct correlation with a statistical significance between the students' participation in the educational film industry and the level of educational values they have; In other words, whenever the rates of students' participation in the educational film industry raises , the level of educational values acquired by them raises, too.
