Old buildings are considered a national wealth that must be preserved and taken care of in their urban surroundings by reusing them. Like other buildings, they consist of a group of internal and external void elements, and these elements have what distinguishes them from similar elements in other buildings, and of course this distinction results from the value Which these buildings express, whether physical or moral, and here the designer’s ingenuity in dealing with the original elements and choosing a method to deal with the added elements of this space, and the methods that the designer follows to study the interior space, in order to reach a general perception of the process of re-employment of the building, including The use takes into account the old or new building. Hence the need to reuse the old buildings, and the research is concerned with studying the old upper water tanks in Egypt from an architectural and plastic point of view, and the possibility of benefiting from them through sustainability.
