An innovative way to transfer the melodies of tetrachords to Arabic music

Abstract

Through the researcher’s teaching of transcribing tetrachord melodies for Arabic music courses, he noticed the difficulties of many students in absorbing traditional methods of transposing melodies and it takes a lot of time to comprehend the depiction of genders. Therefore, the researcher devised a method for transposing tetrachord melodies of Arabic music in an easy and interesting way that attracts students’ attention during teaching, which is a phrase Steps that the student must adhere to while transmitting the melodies. When understanding and understanding this, the students can then depict the maqam of Arabic music in the same way and in a faster manner. The steps are First, recording the tone on which the melody is to be transferred and the complement of the tones according to the number of tones in the tetrachord type with the dimensions of the basic notes, calculating the dimensions between the basic notes in quarters, secondly drawing squares equal to the dimensions of the basic notes, thirdly writing the basic notes below the squares without prejudice to the dimensions of the basic notes, fourthly shading the dimensions of the tetrachord What is meant is to move the melody within the squares, Fifthly, calculate the dimensions with raising or lowering the tone or leaving it, Sixth, moving the tones left or right with the addition of the appropriate transformation marks or leaving them as they are, and finally recording the tetrachord with its details of tones, dimensions and oriental names with the transformation marks, if any.
