Developing the awareness of a sample of home economics college students of modern trends in home design

Abstract

The research aims to develop the awareness of home college students of the modern trends in home design , and the research sample consisted of 320 students who were deliberately selected from the third and fourth grade students of Home Management and Institutions department of Home Economics faculty at the Universities of Menoufia and Al-Azhar, and the experimental research sample consisted of 30 students who were selected from the lowest quarter of those with low awareness of modern trends in home design. The research tools included a general data form for the students of Home Management and Institutions department
and a questionnaire about awareness of modern trends in home design with its axes (information and trends in flexible home, information and trends in smart home, information and trends in sustainable home),
and the guidance program, which aims to develop the awareness of Home Management and Institutions department students of the modern trends in home design.
The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the total awareness of the students of the Home Management and Institutions department in modern trends in home design before and after the application of the guidance program at the level of significance (0.001) in favor of the post application.
The two researchers recommended that the audio, print, visual and social media should spread awareness of the modern trends in home design so that it is directed to all age groups and cultural levels.
