Abstract

The research aims mainly to reveal The Effectiveness of a Counseling Program to Develop Mothers' Awareness of the Functional Appropriateness for the Autistic Children's Room and its Relationship to their Social Interaction Skills. The basic research sample consisted of (63) A mother of a child with autism, whose children are enrolled in rehabilitation centers for autistic children in the governorates of Minia and Aswan. The two researchers took the same basic research sample as an experimental sample. The results show that There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.01) in the average awareness of mothers in the basic research sample about the functional Appropriateness of the room of their children with autism as a whole before applying the prepared program according to the differences of some variables in favor of the (working mother, owned housing, The mother’s high educational level, the smallest number of family members, the high average monthly income of the family, the oldest child, the child has a private room), There is a positive statistically significant correlation at the level of significance (0.01, 0.05) between the awareness of the functional Appropriateness of the room of children with autism and the social interaction skills of autistic children. Statistically significant differences were found at the level of significance (0.01) between the average's responses of the mothers awareness of the functional Appropriateness of the children's room with autism and as a whole before and after the application of the counseling program in favor of post measurement.
