Abstract

Research Objectives:
The current research aims to identify the effectiveness of the cognitive acceleration model the development of intuitive thinking and cognitive curiosity at the secondary level through home economics.
The research tools consisted of a test that includes basic and higher intuitive thinking skills, and the preparation of the curiosity scale with its different dimensions. The research tools were applied to two groups, the experimental group and its number was (25 students) and the control group and its number was (25 students) who were from the first-grade students of the secondary school. The results of the research indicated the effectiveness of the cognitive acceleration model in developing variables and it showed that there are statistically significant differences at the level of (0.01) between the average scores of the students in the research sample in favor of the experimental group in both the intuitive thinking test and the cognitive curiosity scale. The results of the research also demonstrated the existence of a direct correlation between the intuitive thinking test and the axes of the cognitive curiosity scale. The research recommended reformulating the content of the home economics curriculum for the secondary level.
