Abstract

Copper alloys are exposed to corrosion in the air, and for this reason coatings are applied to metals in order to avoid the harmful effect of corrosion. Among these materials are rust inhibitors that are known as chemicals or a mixture of chemicals used in appropriate concentrations to prevent or reduce the rate of rust. The nanoparticles are good contraindications to corrosion, and in this study an artificial aging of copper strips was performed in an industrial aging room in a gaseous medium contaminated with high humidity and temperature, then the corroded copper slices were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) to identify the corrosion compounds and examined using a scanning electron microscope equipped with a unit Scattering the SEM + EDX energy to find out the alloy and corrosion elements and examining them with a stereo microscope to study the surface of the samples, after which the slides were cleaned using mechanical cleaning and chemical cleaning with a Rochelle salt solution and then washed with water several times and dried with alcohol, hence the application of nanocomposites of Nano silica SiO2 + ( Met) L- Methionine and Benzotriazole (BTA) + Nano silica SiO2 and evaluated by XRD and MICR analysis. And the atomic force scoop (AFM) and measuring the contact angle, where it was found that the nano-compound Nano silica SiO2 + (Met) L- Methionin has the ability to cover the surface, reduce surface roughness and water resistance.
