Abstract

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently recommended the use of reusable cloth face masks, and a cloth face mask provides a mechanical barrier against particles larger than 3 microns that are excreted during speech, sneezing, or coughing, as they are made of two or three layers. Basic requirements when manufacturing, so the research aims to define standard standards for reusable cloth face masks that give the best performance efficiency in the properties of comfort and protection according to the classification of users (healthy people - people with Covid 19 - medical staff), and the research followed the experimental design in evaluating (18 ) An experiment resulted from designing experiments for independent variables (the outer layer, the middle layer and the inner layer) of the cloth face masks and knowing their effect on the dependent variables, which are the comfort and protection properties. In terms of the type of material - processing - the weaving structure, the comfort properties (weight - air permeability - softness), and the protection properties (Moisture resistance - moisture absorption - virus resistance) according to the classification of users (healthy people - people with Covid 19 - medical staff), and it was possible to define standard criteria for the best textile materials used for reusable layers of cloth face masks, and the most important recommendations
