The effectiveness of a mentoring program to develop the awareness of housewives with the potential of smart furniture as an entry point to improve housing functionality

Abstract

This research aims to prepare, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of application a mentoring program to develop the awareness of housewives of the potential of smart furniture as an entry to improve the functional performance of house .The basic study sample consisted of (276) housewives.The experimental study sample consisted of (45) housewives .The research tools included a general data form, smart furniture potential scale, an indicative program for developing the awareness of housewives about the potential of smart furniture, and the research followed the descriptive &the experimental approach.
The results showed that 27.5 % of housewives had convertible furniture units foldable furniture and multi-use furniture.. The level of awareness of the potential of smart furniture is average, at a rate of 50.7%.
The results also showed a statistically significant discrepancy at the level of 0.01 in the awareness of the smart furniture potential of housewives in favor of ; the longer marriage period, the higher educational, the professional level of the two spouses, the smaller family, the higher income level, and the high-end residential area. There was no statistically significant variance in regards to the difference in the size of the dwelling and the number of rooms.There are differences in the total awareness of housewives, at a level of significance of 0.01 in favor of working housewives who live in fully owned houses. As well as a statistically significant difference at a level of significance of 0.01, among members of the experimental research sample, for the post measurement.
