Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the effectiveness of employing the Pentagram Strategy in teaching home economics to develop design thinking and achieve psychological Flourishing for students with disabilities educated in the second grade of middle school, and to achieve this goal, the research sample was selected from students with high learner disability according to the results of the Learned Helplessness scale, The descriptive analytical approach and the quasi-experimental approach with two groups (experimental and control) were used, and research tools and experimental treatment materials were put. After implementing the experimental application, the results showed the effective impact of employing the Pentagram Strategy in teaching home economics to develop design thinking, achieve psychological Flourishing, and reduce the severity of learners' deficits among students with learner deficits in the experimental sample, and there was also a correlation between the scores of the experimental group students in the design thinking test and their scores in Scale of psychological Flourishing and their scores in the scale of Learned Helplessness, and in view of the results, the research recommended the importance of applying the measure of learned disability to students of all stages at the beginning of each academic year. In order to identify students with Learned Helplessness and enroll them in educational programs aimed at reducing the severity of their learners' disability, training teachers during service to integrate psychological Flourishing skills with teaching strategies that are employed to raise the positive feelings
