Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify the best needle number, stitch length and tensile level to achieve the best properties for the quality and efficiency of knitting used for knitting Jercy and Dantile, (27) samples were stitched with a normal zigzag stitch (sewing thread) and were used in sewing 100% poly Ester. The study variables were as follows: Three numbers of knitting needle (12 - 14 - 16), three lengths of stitch length (2 mm - 3 mm - 4 mm) and three tensile values which are Tensile 1 - Tensile 2 -Tensile 3), and laboratory tests were carried out on the woven fabrics to determine their properties and their relationship to the research variables (tensile strength Test - the percentage of elongation Test - Seam Pucker test), and then calculate the efficiency of the knitting link, and the results of the research reached the superiority of sample (1) variables (needle number 12 - stitch length 1 - Tensile level 1) on all the research samples while the research sample came No (12) with variables (needle number 14 - stitch length 1 - tensile level 3) the lowest level of quality of knitting the link under study it the best needle number 12 and the best stitch length 1 and the best tensile level 1.
