The Methods of the Female Head of the Family Making Family Decisions and its Relationship to some Social and Economic Variables

Abstract

The current research aims mainly to study the relationship between the methods of the female head of the family making family decisions (purchasing decisions, decisions related to education and health, decisions to spend free time, decisions related to managing family affairs and solving her problems) and some social and economic variables (wife's work - place of residence - wife's age. - The wife's educational level - the number of family members - the length of marriage - the family's monthly income level).
     The study tools were prepared, represented in the form of general data for the family, a questionnaire of the method of making the head of the household of family decisions, and the study sample consisted of 150 female heads of households of different socio-economic levels, in the rural and urban areas of Minya governorate, and the study followed the descriptive and analytical approach. Statistical methods used in calculating numbers, percentages, relative weights, arithmetic means, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, differences between averages using the T.Test test, one-way analysis of variance using the F.Test test, and the L.SD test for multiple comparisons. Among the most important results:
 There is a positive statistically significant correlation relationship at the level of significance (0.01, 0.05) between the methods of the female head of the family making family decisions as a whole and the variables of the socio-economic level (the wife's work, place of residence, the wife's age, the wife's educational level, the number of family members, the length of marriage, the level of monthly income. For the family), the results also showed that there are statistically significant differences in the methods of the female head of household decisions according to the previous socio-economic variables in favor of both the working wife, the urban population, the older wife, the higher educational level of the wife, the fewer family members, the older marriage period , The high monthly income level of the family.
The researcher recommends: The need for specialists in the field of home management and institutions to prepare counseling programs that raise the level of female heads of household awareness of the scientific foundations of the family decision-making process.
