Functional, Aesthetic and Economic Relevance of Interior Design Supplements in the Dwelling and Their Relation to Satisfaction with Family Life Among Housewives

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to identify the nature of the relationship between the extent to which the internal design supplements fit into three dimensions (functional suitability, aesthetic suitability, economic suitability) and satisfaction with family life in its four dimensions (psychological stability, social behavior, self-esteem, reassurance and conviction) Number of family members, number of years of marriage, level of education of husband and wife, categories of monthly income), and determining the nature of differences between (urban and rural) The traditional design owners and the owners of the modern design) in terms of the appropriateness of the three-dimensional interior design and the satisfaction of the family life in its four dimensions, and the nature of the differences between the heads of households of the study sample in the extent of achieving the suitability of interior design in the house with its three axes and satisfaction with family life (The nature of the dwelling, the type of dwelling, the type of furniture in the dwelling, the number of years of marriage, and the monthly income categories of the family).Determining the variables of the socioeconomic level of study sample, through which the functional, aesthetic and economic suitability of interior design supplements can be assessed and housing satisfaction with family life in its four dimensions.
The current study followed the analytical descriptive approach. When the questionnaire was prepared and investigated to determine the functional, aesthetic and economic suitability of the interior design of the dwelling, the measure of satisfaction with family life of housewives was applied to a sample of female heads of households. Families from Fayoum governorate of different socio-economic levels.
The results showed that there is a positive correlative relationship at the level of significance (0.01) between the extent to which the interior design of the dwelling has three dimensions, satisfaction with family life in its four dimensions, and statistically significant differences between the average female heads of households with traditional design (0.05) in favor of families with modern design. It also showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the wives of the study sample in the total questionnaire of the suitability of the interior design in the dwelling according to (Type of housing, type of housing, number of years of marriage, monthly income categories) at 0.01, (0.01), (0.001), (0.001), (0.001) Households with Modern Furniture, Households with a Time of Marriage (less than 5 years), Households with a High Income of (5000 LE and above), and a statistically significant difference between female heads of household The total measure of satisfaction with family life according to the nature of the dwelling, the type of furniture in the dwelling, categories of monthly income at a level of significance (0.001) Households with modern furniture, high income families (5000 pounds or more), respectively. There was also no statistically significant difference between female heads of households in the total sample of satisfaction with family life according to type of housing, duration of marriage.
The study presented a number of recommendations, the most important of which was the family's awareness of the importance of a suitable residential environment that provides functional and aesthetic standards and specifications for all members of the family in general in view of their importance in developing the efficiency of women in performing their family roles to achieve their psychological, moral and self-satisfaction.
