Ergonomics of the Interior Design of Elderly Care Institutions and its relationship to strategies for Positive Adaptation of the Elderly with the problems of Aging

Abstract

This research mainly aims to a study on the Ergonomics level of interior design of elderly care institutions in their dimensions (Ergonomic physical design, Ergonomic Environmental design, Ergonomic Organizational design, and Ergonomic Emotional design) and their relationship to strategies for positive adaptation of the elderly with the problems of aging in their dimensions (search for social support - using cognitive methods - Practice the behavior of acceptance and expression of feelings). To achieve the aim of the study, the study tools represented in the general data form for the elderly, a questionnaire for considerations Ergonomics of the interior design of elderly care institutions, and a questionnaire for strategies for positive adaptation of the elderly with the problems of aging. These tools were applied to (96) elderly women and an elderly man who were chosen through the Random purpose method with the aim of males and females over the age of sixty residing in the institutions of the elderly, at different social and economic levels.
