The Effectiveness of a Program Using Hypermedia To Learn the Skill of Draping Ray Pleats on the Mannequin

Abstract

       Along with the development of the current era and the proliferation of modern technological means, the educational process is no longer limited to specific times or places, and is not confined to the walls of the classrooms. Hypermedia is considered an encyclopedia for the production of new forms of educational programs. It provides the learner with easy means to organize and manage information and data provided by multimedia to meet the learner’s requirements and needs.
       Bearing in mind that the learning the skills of draping on the mannequin takes time. Therefore, this research aimed to design and produce a program based on hypermedia to learn the skill of draping ray pleats on the mannequin, and to measure its effectiveness on the learners through the cognitive test and the skill test, which  the note card and the estimation scale were used to evaluate them. The research also aimed to explore the opinions of learners about the use of the program.
      The exploratory sample of the research consisted of (5 female students) and the basic sample consisted of (30 female students) of the second level students at the Department of Fashion Design - Faculty of Design - Qassim University.
       The results showed the effectiveness of the program in terms of knowledge acquisition and skills performance in favor of the post application. In addition, the students' views were positive towards learning using the hypermedia program.
         The research recommendations included the addition of the suggested educational program using hypermedia to the educational activities for self-learning in the curricula of university students specializing in clothing.
