The Effectiveness Of a Training program Based on the Market's Needs to develop Fashion Designing skills of home economics' students

Abstract

Research aims study the effectiveness of a training program based on the market's needs to develop fashion designing skills of home economics' students. In order to make them acquire the necessary knowledge and qualifications that can give them a chance in the work market                                                                                                                         
The study included a questionnaire to study the requirements of the local work market in the fashion designer, (pre/post) acquiring test to measure the knowledge and skills included in the training program and to build a standard that can evaluate the training results.
The research held the experimental descriptive method.
It was applied upon 18 students from the 3rd. 4th year students upon their own well from 15/2 to 15/4 2018 for 4 hours / 2 days per week in the clothing and textile labs -faculty of specific education –Alexandria University.
The results assured the important specifications required by the local work market in the fashion designer and importance of the training program in developing the acquired knowledge and skills concerning drawing, colouring and quoting skills, in addition to that ability to innovate design.
-    There are significant statically differences between the pretest and the posttest concerning the acquired knowledge and skills. The post test is significant at 0.01.
The researcher recommends the coming research to continue training on fashion design to go along with the quick changeable verities and work market challenges.
It is also recommended to include fashion designing as an important under graduate subject for the 4th year students because it is only included in post graduate studies.
