Abstract

The aim of the current research is to know the effectiveness of using a strategy based on the theory of brain-based learning to teach art education on technical skills and the direction towards them among sixth-grade primary students. The educational materials were represented in the student's worksheets, and the teacher's guide to explain how to use the strategy based on the brain-based learning theory to teach engineering formations, paper formations using elementary art in the first semester course for art education for the sixth grade of elementary school. While the measuring tools were represented in the note for technical skills, and the measure of the trend towards art education. The current research used the quasi-experimental approach, and the sample of the research was chosen from the sixth primary pupils for the academic year 2017-2018, consisting of (80) male and female students, and they were divided into two groups: an officer consisting of (38) male and female students at Al-Lumta Primary School studied using the usual method, and a group An experimental group of (42) male and female pupils at Al-Nizam Primary School studied the same subjects using a strategy based on brain-based learning theory. The two measurement tools were applied to students of both groups before and after teaching.
The results of the research indicated that the experimental group students in the technical skills and the trend towards art education are higher than the counterparts of the control group students. The strategy based on the brain-based learning theory provided the opportunity to interact with educational content, through the practice of multiple activities, which caused the competition among students at the individual and group level, which contributed to the ease of learning, and the development of their technical skills. In light of the results of the current research, the most important recommendations came from the necessity of using the strategy based on the brain-based learning theory, and training the in-service teachers in using it in teaching art education.

Key words: brain-based learning strategy, technical skills, and direction.
